2025 at 8:17 pm2 Lt Kamal Gambhir was my classmate in Ispat Public School, Rourkela during the period 1964 to 1966 (9th to 11h Standard Indian School Certificate syllabus). His father worked in Rourkela Steel Plant and he had a younger brother Kishore Gambhir who was also a student in the same school. I was aware that he was in the army. He attained martyrdom in the 1971 war when I was in 4th year of engineering in REC (now NIT) Rourkela. Kamal had a very pleasing personality and I still remember his smiling face.
