2024 at 12:42 amMaj JC Verma was my Chacha . My father was his elder brother. Maj Verma studied in Oak Grove School, Jharipani, Mussoorie. Maj Verma was exceptionally brave. With all the accounts we have of his unit members, I believe he was grievously wounded, and taken prisoner of war. He had shaved his head before battle, and there was a link that an Indian major was pow, whose head was shaved. After that we have no news. His elder daughter, my cousin lives in Lucknow. I am sorry to say, not enough efforts were made to get our missing POWs back. He must have died in Pak prison by now.
