Naik Ajit Chutia hailed from Bhurbandha village in the Marigaon district of Assam. He joined the army after completing his school education and was inducted into the 1st Battalion of the Assam Regiment.
Operation Meghdoot : 21 Dec 2012
Naik Ajit Chutia was serving with the 1 Assam Battalion in the Siachen Glacier—the highest battlefield in the world—during December 2012. He made the ultimate sacrifice and was martyred during an operation on 21 December 2012.
He is survived by his wife, Smt. Nijara Deka.
