Sepoy Binod Boro hailed from Rangapara in Sonitpur district, Assam. A proud son of the soil, he joined the Indian Army after completing his schooling and was inducted into the prestigious 1st Battalion of the Assam Regiment.

 

Operation Meghdoot : 17 Dec 2012

 

Sepoy Binod Boro was serving with the 1st Assam Battalion in the treacherous heights of the Siachen Glacier—the highest and most challenging battlefield on Earth. On 17 December 2012, while carrying out his duty with unwavering courage, he made the supreme sacrifice and was martyred in the line of duty.

 

He is survived by his wife, Smt Anjali Bala Boro
