“Rang De Veer” : Jul 2020 to Aug 2020
As part of its unwavering mission to honour the sacrifices of India’s fallen heroes and foster a spirit of patriotism among young minds, Honourpoint organized the “Rang De Veer – All India Open Online Painting Competition” in 2020. Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural competition in 2019, the event returned with even greater enthusiasm and participation.
The competition was strategically timed to coincide with two of the most significant occasions in India’s history: it commenced on “Kargil Vijay Diwas” (26 July 2020), a day that commemorates India’s victory in the Kargil War, and concluded on “Independence Day” (15 August 2020), the day marking India’s freedom from colonial rule. These dates were chosen to instill a sense of reverence for the sacrifices made by the Armed Forces and to encourage young Indians to express their gratitude and creativity through art.
The competition was open to all Indian children up to the age of 18, including children with special needs, ensuring inclusivity and a platform for diverse talents to shine. The response was phenomenal, with a large number of participants from hundreds of schools across the country submitting their entries. The young artists poured their creativity onto canvases, producing heartfelt tributes to the valiant heroes of the Armed Forces.
The results of the competition were announced on 20 September 2020, recognizing and celebrating the exceptional talent and effort of the participants. “Rang De Veer” not only served as a creative outlet for children but also successfully fulfilled Honourpoint’s mission to instill national pride and awareness about the sacrifices of the Indian Armed Forces among the younger generation.
