Naik Pradeep Kumar Sharma hailed from Gahrauli village in Raebareli district of Uttar Pradesh, a region known for its rich tradition of producing brave soldiers who have served the nation with distinction. He was the son of Shri Naresh Sharma and grew up in an environment where values such as discipline, patriotism, and duty were deeply respected. From a young age, he was inspired by stories of valour and the ethos of the Indian Army, which instilled in him a strong desire to serve the nation in uniform. Determined to turn his aspiration into reality, he pursued his goal with unwavering focus during his formative years. His dedication and perseverance ultimately bore fruit when he was recruited into the Indian Army. He was recruited into the 18th Sikh Battalion of the Sikh Regiment, an infantry Regiment well known for its gallant soldiers and various battle honours. In the early phase of his military career, he underwent rigorous training, which laid a strong foundation for his professional growth. He quickly adapted to the demanding and disciplined life of a soldier, displaying remarkable commitment, resilience, and a keen sense of responsibility.
Over time, he became an integral part of his unit, contributing significantly to its operational readiness and overall effectiveness. Throughout his service, Naik Pradeep Kumar Sharma served in various operational and field areas, steadily building extensive experience across diverse terrains and situations. His consistent performance and hard work enabled him to rise through the ranks, and by 2026, he had been promoted to the rank of Naik. As a Non-Commissioned Officer, he played a vital role in bridging the gap between officers and soldiers. He ensured effective communication, maintained high standards of discipline, and contributed to sustaining morale within the unit.

Naik Pradeep Kumar Sharma devoted his life to safeguarding India’s borders, serving under challenging operational conditions and leading by example as a Non-Commissioned Officer. His supreme sacrifice on 7 March 2026 during an operational movement in Arunachal Pradesh stands as a testament to his courage and devotion to duty. While serving in one of the most difficult terrains along the India–China frontier, he gave everything in the service of the motherland.
Today, I salute Naik Pradeep Kumar Sharma for his exceptional service, bravery, and sacrifice. His legacy will continue to inspire generations of Indians to uphold the values of patriotism, resilience, and selfless service.
