Havaldar Kashi Ram Jhanjhot was born on 11 May 1944 in Nasirabad of Rajasthan. In 1963, when Kashi Ram Jhanjhot was 19 years old he joined the army. He was enrolled into Corps of EME. Hav Kashi Ram Jhanjhot was married to Neelam Jhanjhot and the couple had three daughters named Babita Jhanjhot , Sapna Jhanjhot, Preethy Jhanjhot and two sons Rajesh Jhanjhot and Paras Jhanjhot. Havaldar Kashi Ram Jhanjhot served 21 years in the army and took part in various military operations. He fought in both 1965 and 1971 wars with Pakistan. Besides wars, he served at various tough and treacherous places like China, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan borders. During his service he earned many medals viz. Raksha medal 1965, Sangram Medal, Sainya Sena Medal and 25th Independent Anniversary medal 1947-1972. He retired from army as Havaldar on 31st October 1985.
Havaldar Kanshi Ram led a very active life after his retirement. He Joined forest department on 25th May 1986 and worked as forest guard. He was involved in many civic activities like establishment of Ambedkar Circle, Mahadev Mandir and Baba Ramdev Mandir. He fought against some of the old and irrelevant customs prevalent in the Valmiki community. Not only this he contested assembly election as independent candidate to champion the cause of the community and welfare of the people in general. He was known as a ‘Service Man’ who devoted his life to the service of the people. He left for heavenly abode on 29th May 2005. Havaldar Kashi Ram Jhanjhot is survived by his wife, children and grand children.
