    मैं इनकी अंतिम यात्रा का साक्ष्य रहा हूं। नसीराबाद छावनी राजस्थान में अंतिम संस्कार हुआ था । जून 1999 । प्रथम बलिदानियों में नाम है मेजर साहब का ।
    आप हमेशा हमारे दिलों में रहेंगे ।

    I was Kamlesh ‘s Battery Commander, prior to his posting to RR. Have very fond rememberances of him. A very pleasant person with ever smiling face

    I had the honor to be with him, when we both left almost simultaneously Nasirabad cantonment I, as Officer Commanding 340 Independent Provost Unit, he, an officer of Mechanised Unit of 340 Independent Infantry Brigade to join as Establishment Officer and Camp Commandant of Head Quarters Counter Inteligence Force Delta at Batote, Jammu and Kashmir and he, an officer in Rashtriya Rifles Battalion of the same formation in Doda and Kishtawar Sector of Jammu and Kashmir respectively.
    He had succomed to injuries during an ill fated ambush by the Pak insurgents , during which he lead his team undauntedly, leading from front till his last breath, ensuring heavy losses of insurgents and safety of men under his command.
    The sad news first reached my wife, Daulat Kumari, on land line telephone, provided to both our families by the Army to be in communication with us during operations. Later as the news crystalized the widow of Kamlesh Prasad was informed of the martyerdom of Major Kamlesh Prasad. Befitting funeral with full military honors and support to the war widow including job offer as Rajasthan Government teacher as also naming a Government School in Nasirabad on his name with full package of entitled benifits was in process at that point of time.
