Naik Khushal Singh

Nk Khushal’s native place was near Gangolihat , Uttarakhand. After his initial studies he joined Indian Army and was inducted in 5 Kumaon. Later he was deputed to  13 RR which was involved in counter terrorist activity in Jammu and Kashmir.
 
 On 23rd of September 2009 he and his team members were fighting with insurgents in Bandipora area of Kashmir. During the course of engagement of insurgents he was fatally injured and attained martyrdom.
 
For his act of bravery, valour and courage in the face of enemy he was awarded  Sena Medal (Gallantry) posthumously.
