From a young age, he harbored a deep desire to serve the nation and was determined to don the olive-green uniform of the Indian Army. His unwavering ambition and dedication ultimately led him to join the Indian Army after completing his school education. Rfn Prem Bahadur got recruited into the 3/1 GR battalion of the 1 Gorkha Rifles Regiment, a regiment known for its fearless soldiers and numerous battle exploits. After completing his training, he served in various challenging operational areas and developed into a fine officer with admirable soldierly skills.
