Sep Jaspreet Singh SM

Sepoy Jaspreet Singh, hailed from Talwandi village in Moga district of Punjab. Son of Shri Sarban Singh, Sep Jaspreet had joined the Army in 2014 and completed 3 years of his service. He belonged to the 8 Sikh Li of the famed Sikh Light Infantry regiment and was attached with the Rashtriya Rifles operating in J & K.

 

Cross Border Firing : Nowshera (18 July 2017)

 

Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts in Naushera sector in Rajouri at around 1350 hours on 18 July 2017.  On that day the enemy also targeted schools, trapping students and teachers about 217 of them in in 3 schools in Kadali and Seha areas of Rajouri near the LoC for 6 hours. The Army and state police, however, rescued and evacuated them to safer places in bullet-proof vehicles.

 

The Army retaliated the unprovoked firing in a befitting manner and the exchange of fire continued for several hours. Sep Jaspreet Singh got injured during the heavy exchange of fire and was shifted to the nearby hospital. However he later succumbed to his injuries and was martyred. Sep Jaspreet Singh was a brave and committed soldier who laid down his life in the service of the nation.

 

Sepoy Jaspreet Singh is survived by his parents,two brothers and two sisters.
