Sepoy Md Rafique Uddin hailed from Akarabari Gaon village in the Nagaon district of Assam. He joined the army after completing his school education and was inducted into the 3rd Battalion of the Assam Regiment. 

Operation Meghdoot : 17 Nov 1986

During Nov 1986, Sepoy Rafique Uddin was serving with 3 Assam Battalion that in the Siachen Glacier, the highest battlefield in the world. during the operation, he was martyred on 17 Nov 1986.
