Sepoy Raghunath Chandra Barua hailed from Charipunia village in the Goalpara district of Assam. He joined the army after completing his school education and was inducted into the 3rd Battalion of the Assam Regiment. 

Indo - Pak War : Dec 1971

During Dec 1971, Sepoy Raghunath Chandra Barua was serving with 3 Assam Battalion that was deployed in Punjab in the western front. In one of the operations during the war, he was martyred on 08 Dec 1971. 

Sepoy Raghunath Chandra Barua is survived by his brother Shri Khirod Ch Barua.
