Subedar Rango Ram Owari

Subedar Rango Ram Owari hailed from Chaprakata village in Bongaigaon district, Assam. Driven by a strong sense of duty and patriotism, he joined the Indian Army after completing his schooling and was inducted into the 3rd Battalion of the Assam Regiment—a distinguished unit known for its unwavering discipline, exceptional bravery, and dedicated service to the nation.

In 2003, Subedar Rango Ram Owari was serving with the 3rd Battalion of the Assam Regiment, which was deployed in the challenging terrain of the Siachen Glacier—the highest and most demanding battlefield in the world. On 19 January 2003, while engaged in active operations, he displayed unwavering courage and dedication to duty, ultimately making the supreme sacrifice and attaining martyrdom in the line of duty.

 

He is survived by his wife, Smt. Lwkhusri Owari.
