“Rang De Veer”–All India Open Online Painting Contest

Aim
“Rang De Veer” is Honourpoint Foundation’s flagship national student tribute initiative, now in its 8th edition. Over the past seven years, it has engaged thousands of schools and students across India, with participation growing steadily each year. The initiative reflects a deep connection among young minds with the stories of India’s fallen heroes. Rang De Veer 2026 aims to further expand its reach and inspire students to reflect on the values of courage, sacrifice, and service to the nation. It seeks to instil patriotism and encourage young Indians to draw inspiration from our Bravehearts, contributing meaningfully to nation-building. At its core, the initiative ensures that the sacrifices of our soldiers continue to inspire future generations.
Scale & Outreach
In its 8th edition, Rang De Veer is being conducted at an expanded national scale, with a vision to connect with over 40,000 schools across India and engage lakhs of students, including those in rural and remote regions. To support this effort, a well-coordinated nationwide outreach initiative is being undertaken with the involvement of hundreds of volunteers from partner ecosystems, including students, educators, and corporate participants.
This structured outreach is designed to:
• Build meaningful awareness across school communities
• Enable wider and more inclusive student participation
• Strengthen engagement at the grassroots level
The scale, planning, and collaborative nature of this effort reflect the growing national significance of the initiative and provide a strong platform for institutional and corporate partnerships.
Theme – Maatrubhumi
The theme “Maatrubhumi” represents the Motherland as the highest and most sacred cause. Our soldiers—the true sentinels of the nation—draw their deepest sense of purpose and inspiration from the Motherland. To them, it is not merely land, but a symbol of honour, identity, and duty, worthy of being protected at any cost—even to the extent of laying down their lives. Their sacrifice reflects an unbreakable bond between the soldier and the Motherland, where its defence becomes the ultimate cause, above all else.
Through this theme, participants are encouraged to express:
- The deep connection between soldiers and the Motherland
- The spirit of courage, duty, and sacrifice
- The inspiration that drives soldiers to defend the nation with their lives
Who Can Participate
- Students from Class I to XII across India
- Students from NIOS / Open Schooling systems
- Children with special needs (Special Category)
- Indian students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools abroad
Participation is free, and only Indian nationals are eligible to take part.
Categories
- Junior Category: Class I – VI (up to 12 years)
- Senior Category: Class VII – XII (up to 18 years)
- Special Category: Children with special needs
️ What to Submit
- Submit a painting based on the theme “Maatrubhumi.”
- Participants may depict:
- Any fallen hero (Shaheed) from wars or operations from 1947 onwards
- A scene of bravery, sacrifice, or service
- The bond between a soldier and the motherland
- The painting should reflect:
- Love for the nation
- Courage and sacrifice
- Inspiration drawn from our heroes

How to Participate
Submissions will be accepted only through the official Google Form, the link to which is provided below.
Steps:
- Create your painting based on the given theme.
- Take a clear photo or scan of your painting (ensure good lighting and clarity).
- Make sure the file is:
- A3 size
- Minimum 300 DPI resolution
- In JPG or PNG format
- Open the submission link provided below.
- Sign in with your Google account (Gmail ID is required to upload files). ( Note: If you do not have a Google account, please take the help of your parents, teachers, or school coordinator).
- Fill in all required details carefully (name, class, school, etc.).
- Upload your painting file in the form.
- Review your details and click Submit.

For Schools
Schools may nominate a teacher coordinator to collect and submit entries in bulk.

Student Prizes
A total of 116 prizes will be awarded (58 in each category):
- First Prize: ₹35,000 and a Certificate of Excellence
- Second Prize: ₹25,000 and a Certificate of Excellence
- Third Prize: ₹15,000 and a Certificate of Excellence
- 50 Consolation Prizes: ₹5,000 each, along with a Certificate of Excellence
- 5 Exclusive Prizes: For children in the Special Category
Additional Recognition:
- Each winner will receive a special gift comprising a set of books signed by the authors
- Certificates of Recognition will be awarded to the top 100 participants
Special Incentive for NCC Cadets
As a mark of appreciation for the discipline, commitment, and spirit of service embodied by Junior Division/Junior Wing NCC cadets—who are present across approximately 15,000 schools in the country—and to encourage greater participation in the National Cadet Corps.
- If any of the top three winners in each category (Junior & Senior) is an NCC cadet, they will be awarded an additional incentive of ₹5,000.
Accordingly, the revised prize amounts for NCC cadet winners will be:
- 1st Prize: ₹40,000
- 2nd Prize: ₹30,000
- 3rd Prize: ₹20,000
This initiative seeks to recognize the contribution of NCC cadets and inspire more students to be part of this prestigious organization.

To encourage wider participation, schools will be recognized at the national level based on their contribution and engagement.

Recognition for Winning Schools
Winning schools will receive:
- National-Level Trophy
- Official Certificate of Recognition
- ️Institutional Recognition Kit (including professionally designed digital assets, recognition plaques/creatives, and display materials for school use)
Additional Recognition
- The Top 20 Schools in each category will be:
- Recognized on Honourpoint platforms
- Awarded a Certificate of Appreciation
National Felicitation Ceremony
The top three winners in each category (Junior & Senior), along with the top two schools in the Junior category and top two schools in the Senior category recognized at the national level for maximum participation, will be invited for a National Felicitation Ceremony.

- A platform to formally honour excellence, participation, and institutional contribution

⚖️ Judging
An eight-member judging panel will be constituted, comprising family members of fallen soldiers and experienced professionals. The details of the judging panel will be published here at a later date.
